High Fives Foundation helps Ira’s gear needs!

High Fives FoundationYou may have seen a few posts back where I was awarded a grant from the High Fives Foundation to help purchase a handcycle from Lasher Sport.  Well, the bike is at the powdercoat shop and all the components are in, so it should be ready for me to ride in a week or two.  I’ll do a cool post about the building of my bike when it comes in, as I have been following its construction (I am lucky enough to live in the same town as the Lasher shop…).

High Fives Foundation has just designated me as one of their Winter Empowerment Athletes, hopefully due to my undying love of the outdoors and my determination to get back out there.  They have set up a fund specifically for the purpose of helping to fund more of the adaptive sports equipment that will keep me going all year long.  Continue reading
